Many non profit organizations find it a real challenge to let the residents of Penfield know about events they are holding that are open to the public. These include, fund-raising dinners, auctions, car washes as well as concerts, plays and community festivals.

The Penfield Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a new, free service for community non profit organizations that will make it easy to promote events to the public.

Penfield Events is an email notification service that makes it easy for anyone in the community to sign up for and receive periodic emails that will list community events. Think of it as a community calendar that conveniently gets emailed to you.

Organizations like the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Penfield Players, Penfield Symphony Orchestra, Rotary, churches and other community organizations and service clubs can submit information about their events to have them included in the Penfield Events emails. There is no charge to organizations to have their events included in the listing. Participating organizations are asked to let their members know about Penfield Events through newsletters and other communications.

Signing up to receive the emails is very easy. All people have to do is go to the Web site, www.Penfield Events.com and enter their email, first name and ZIP Code in the opt-in form. Users can easily opt-out of the service anytime they wish.

The email addresses will never be sold, rented or loaned to anyone, including the participating organizations..

Emails will be sent on an as needed basis. Typically they will be sent on a Wednesday or Thursday. Depending on the time of the year and number of events going on, emails will be sent out between one and four times per month. They will be limited to a maximum of one per week.

Each email will consist of a listing of all the current events. Each listing will be limited to just a few lines and will include a link to the organization’s Web site, where the complete details of the events can be listed.

Penfield area non profit organizations are invited to promote your events by participating in this free service. To register as a Penfield Events partner, a simple registration form is provided on the Web site www.PenfieldEvents.com. Once registered, organizations will be able to submit information about their events by email.
